hmm. Semenjak saya graduate dari Matriks dan bkerja part time. Banyak yang tanya saya, "Matriks susah ka?" "Berapa pointer kau?" Terus mula la dorang cakap, "Tingkatan 6 lagi susah bah." "Taraf dunia bah soalan kami." " Susah bah orang mau dapat pointer 3 keatas." "Senang bah matriks tu." and I was like "da mula la tu mau mengasi down2 orang. mula sudah mau pandang rendah sama budak matriks." well, sini sama mau kasi bahas la sikit pasal ni benda. saya bukan bangga yg saya ni student keluaran matriks tapi saya tau macam mana saya dan kawan2 seperjuangan buat di sana untuk survive. Saya pasti banyak kawan2 saya juga kena cakap begini. Memang rasa ketidakpuashatian tu ada. Tapi cuba pikir bah, kenapa kami masuk matriks dan kamu masuk tingkatan enam? Malas suda kami mau dengar keluhan kamu pasal "betapa susahnya" tingkatan enam.
Nda paham? Baca maksud :)
God bless you xx
Nda puas hati? Baca Ini :)

Hope to clarify this, and not to bring down anyone.
ReplyDelete1. Those 1500m race you mean, especially to students of STPM, represent a full, compact syllabus being compressed into 4 months per semesters, total of 3 semester. And those syllabus of STPM, are in fact, a year-1 syllabus of degree in university. Heck, some of the STPM Math T Term 2 syllabus (in STPM, we deal with calculus for the whole second term) came out in University of New South Wales' Electrical Engineering Year 3 syllabus. So I can say, in term of "how many lesson do we need to do", we're the same. Lots and lots of subjects (in context for both Matrix & STPM) are compressed in pre-defined amount of learning periods (2 semesters for matrix, 3 semesters for STPM).
2. In STPM, it's much, much harder to achieve 3.9 for science student, yet it's relatively much easier for non-science student to achieve that. One living example is my brother. Hence, that's why most top 3 best STPM students from all states are science stream students.
3. It's lucky that you have tutorial, night class, and full-fledged complete facilities, together with a dedicated college building and classroom, with a university-style lectures. In my place, our classroom are our lecture hall, with only 5 classes per level (Upper & Lower 6), and we don't have a dedicated Maths T teacher. Hence we have to resolve for external teaching from a UNIMAS undergraduate to teach us Maths T for rm40 per month. Some school doesn't even have teacher, hence they have to study by their own. We have to study in extremely limited resource, yet still have to maintain our performance or else we'll be dead by the end of the semester.
4. Not everyone in Form 6 lives good life. I have a classmate who's from Tambunan, and he's staying in our asrama. Imagine living with kids who are younger than you in the same hostel. You have to be a student, and also a brother, and also the guardian.
5. Form 6 is not taking STPM papers alone. We have to do our kerja kursus, which is equivalent to final year project, for every subject that we take. I myself have to do 23 (physics) + 23 (chemistry) + 3 (ICT) + 3 (Maths T) reports, plus with 3 huge projects (Pengajian Am, Physics, Chemistry). And those who are taking arts also have to do their "art thesis". For only 4-5 months per semester, we have to complete this. So, in term of "we have to do this and this and this...", yeah, we're pretty on the same wheel here.
ReplyDelete6. In form 6 again it's not "die hard studying" alone. There's MPP organization, of which you have to be the representative for the whole form 6. And yes, being a president by myself, time management is key, and being ultra busy in certain time is something that I (and any other YdP MPP T6) is used with.
7. Again, Form 6 is not "studying hard" alone. We have to balance our time with extra co-curricular activities, and joining "kawad" is a must in my place, no matter what. Even when there's no kokum activities, we still have to put our hands in helping the school doing other events such as the sports day, festival day, official ceremonies, etc. And again, being the president of form 6, you'll also have to get used to stand in line with the school administrator line, as you are one of the highest-positioned student in the school. Knowing the protocol to welcome VIP guests (such as the chief minister of Sabah, for example) is a MUST.
8. Our "Biasiswa Tingkatan 6" has been fully omitted, sooo yeah. We don't have our "allowance". Dare to stand alone, berdiri di atas kaki sendiri. ;)
9. Oh, and we also have our remote, far-from-civilization form 6 center, which is the Kolej Tingkatan 6 near the SMK Bandaraya.
My intention to comment this post is to make thing straight again, just how what you wanted to be. Hopefully this post will give insights to some of the reader, as studying in form 6 has it's own challenge itself. And hopefully, we can completely stop directly comparing between these 2 options because both of them are way different in many way. ;)
Hai hai, Obrien :) Kita seumur pula ni. :) hee, 1st of all, sa mau cakap tq sebab sudi kasi luang masa baca blog sa. secondly, sa paham bila sa post pasal matriks and orang akan bawa benda ni d pelantaran untuk diperbahaskan xD but, opinion juga kan. saya nda marah. saya okey ja. saya nda rasa tersinggung kalau kau mempersembahkan facts pasal tingkatan enam. saya tidak mempersendakan tingkatan enam ya :) and saya nda juga nda menghighlightkan matriks is better than... . saya cuma mendeklarasikan opinion yg berbaurkan pencerahan. Saya sangat berterima kasih sebab sudi comment juga sebab banyak benda sa nda tau lagi pasal tingkatan enam :) 1st time sa tau ada biasiswa xD elaun kami. hehehe. 250 but kami bersyukur juga. apa2 pun, teda benda yg terlalu susah, ada yg susah tapi nda da yg terlalu susah sebab Tuhan berfirman, beban yg kau pikul tidak akan melebihi kekuatanmu. For real, 1 month pertama, bagi saya yg study science subjects dalam BM, betul2 mencabar tapi dengan kekuatan dari Tuhan dan pertolonganNya, puji Tuhan, dapat juga score sikit xD apa2 pun, nice to know you. BTW, saya ada baca blog kau tadi and yeah, teruskan berkarya kawan ^_^ kita share2 la entry :D kalau ada masa, boleh la chit chat di wechat ka, fb ka xD hehe. btw, All the best untuk Sem 3 :D kasi yakin ja kau boleh dapat 4flat.
